Certified Organic Corn
After searching far and wide (locally) for a corn tortilla that met all of our families needs and coming up empty handed we founded Ula Tortilla.
Our tortillas are the only local tortillas made fresh using certified organic, non gmo corn.
We use an ancient process called nixtamalization to produce the most nutritious and delicious tortillas around. This process involves cooking and soaking our corn in a solution of lime (calcium hydroxide) and water overnight. After rinsing we grind the corn in our stone grinder which produces masa, the dough with which we make our tortillas.
We take pride in the process that we use and hope that you enjoy our tortillas as much as we do!
Beginning this summer we began to pursue another dream which is to expand our business into the chip market.
Besides being the only locally made, organic corn tortilla chips, we cook our chips in coconut oil which sets us apart from all others on the market.
